Davison Public Schools
Diekema Hamann conducted a five week, six step study on Central Elementary School. Davison Community Schools has commissioned our firm to complete overall evaluation of the current Central Elementary Building (Formerly the Davison High School) to determine the overall condition of the existing structure and its adaptability to be used for the next twenty or more years as a state of the art elementary school for the Community of Davison. The facility study included a building assessment, creating an ideal template for elementary school, creating 3 project models, cost, phasing and recommendations.
The Davison Community School district accepted Diekema Hamann's recommendation to renovate and expand the existing facility. Davison's intent is to provide a new, state of the art learning environment with new technology. The design includes 3 new additions and renovation of the existing building. The additions houses new classrooms, cafeteria and administration offices. Renovations include a new kitchen, enlarging classroom sizes, adding new finishes, lighting and mechanical systems. To improve the environment for students, a new HVAC system will be installed that provides fresh air for heating and cooling. Construction is planned to be finished December of 2014.
