Diekema Hamann provided mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering services as well as furniture design and procurement services for this renovation and addition to the current Grand Rapids Christian High School. The project was a multi-phased renovation of the original academic areas of the high school including the central offices and counseling areas.

The central boiler plant and main electrical services were relocated as part of the redevelopment of the main entrance and west facade of the complex. All major sanitary, domestic water, heating, power, lighting and technology systems were replaced and renovated as part of the building project. A full service kitchen and servery are being constructed as part of a 900 student educational "Hub" that will be used for assemblies, group learning, eating, and study spaces.

A 35,000 SF science wing addition will contain state-of-the-art laboratory equipment for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Science classes. The building was designed to be fully air conditioned with the ability for each classroom to be independently controlled and/or shut off. While not currently LEED pursuant, the project was designed using LEED principals and guidelines.
