VAMC Battle Creek Inpatient Mental Health Renovation
The renovation of Building 8 for mental health includes new interior finishes throughout and renovation of existing congregate restrooms to provide better privacy for residents. The interior upgrades included replacement of doors, ceilings and lights, as well as painting throughout.
The interior design concept for Building 8 will have in mind that the users are primarily an inpatient mental health residential treatment program for 20 people with 5 floating beds. The population served in this program is all male. One of the goals for the project is to provide a setting that relates more to a homelike and healing environment; this will be achieved with the new finishes and warm and inviting colors.
